metrô stations are open uninterruptedly from carnaval friday at 5 am, until the following tuesday.

in the stations central do brazil (centro), praça onze (north zone) and general osório (ipanema), the metrô will stay open continuously until 2 am of ash wednesday. 

further, as of saturday at noon, the trains of line two with get directly into ipanema station without having to stop and transfer at the botafogo station.

the same will be true for saturday at 5 am and sunday at 11 pm due to the parade of the champions.
