at a glance

at the time of entrudos, ridicule and denunciation of authorities, intellectuals and the ruling classes was very common and these attacks came from one person or entire groups of people.

satire and humor acted as prime weapons against the powers of the times.

under the disguise of an unbridled party, this political demonstration shined light on a society that people claimed not to be always just.

the people were able to speak up, and have a fun time while doing it, as there was no better way to bring an audience than having a big party with almost no rules.

within a society, underrepresented groups can greatly benefit from these events and practices, and it is no wonder that the lower classes have always embraced street carnival.  arrow-back     arrow-forward
