at a glance

these utopias of social expression no doubt became very popular, and in many ways these ideals still exist to their fullest extent in today's blocos, the offspring of entrudos.

each neighborhood has its own bloco, and each bloco has a band, a singer, or a dj, that plays for the participants.

some blocos march on routes, and some stay still - and everyone is invited.

there is a lot of variety with blocos, and while some are more popular with families others might attract more alternative crowds, but there are always many spectators and some very wild costumes.

there may be grown men dressed as babies, alongside a group of people dressed as furniture, or a pirate kissing a clown. arrow-back     arrow-forward
