at a glance

blocos are safe events to photograph, but the areas or surrounding neighborhoods where the street parties take place may not be as safe - so equipment should only be kept visible at the actual events.

at blocos, it is also important to distinguish who wants to be photographed, and who does not - to avoid embarrassing situations, and even street fights.

revelers using particularly rich costumes are likely to enjoy being photographed, while people wearing just basic items like hats and wigs are probably not celebrating to be photographed - despite how great they may look!

when shooting close-up, photographers who do not speak portuguese, should always make eye contact with the subjects. arrow-back      arrow-forward
