part of the zoológico is also the museu da fauna, an interactive museum focusing on brazilian ecosystems, aiming to also divulgate brazilian conservation and environmental projects.

the rio zoo can be easily accessed from the south of the city by metrô, getting off at são cristóvão station on line 2 - the entrance fee is r$6,00, and the museu national is a 10-minute walk from the zoo, in the área verde park.
