citizens of australia, canada, and the united states of america are all required to get visas to enter brazil, including tourist visas. when a visa to enter brazil is not required, a 'visa-waiver' form is filled before arrival, and a stamp in the passport marks the arrival date and the last day allowed in brazil on the trip. visa waivers can be issued for both tourism and business, where business is intended as a commercial activity that would not require or equal permanent or temporary employment in brazil. authorities will issue a copy of the visa-waiver form filled before arrival, containing all information submitted such as name, passport number, date of arrival, address in brazil, and reason for the trip - this form must be safeguarded as it is and important legal document and it is required when exiting brazil and/or if the passport is lost or stolen. |
