música no museu is for classical music lovers and is held over a marathon four months, from january to april each year - featuring numerous free concerts held at museums and cultural spaces dotted around rio de janeiro, it is a great chance to listen to some calming classical music while soaking up some of the city's cultural and historic offerings.

supported by brazil's ministry of culture, in 2014 the work of 100-years-old brazilian composer césar guerra-peixe (1914 -1993) was commemorated - many small classical music events take place throughout the year at the  cidade das artes, a famous venue for  small festivals.
