at a glance

being almost exclusively frequented by cariocas, this beach gives a truly authentic feel of rio de janeiro's beach life away from the more international copacabana and ipanema beach.

easily accessible via public transportation, the closest subway stops are estação botafogo that leads to one end of the beach, and estação flamengo, closest to the opposite end - many buses passing through ipanema and copacabana go along botafogo beach as well.

there are two underground passages used to cross the avenue facing the beach, it is strongly recommended not to attempt to cross the avenue on the surface due to very fast traffic - and always respecting the green and red lights.    arrow-back      arrow-forward
