at a glance
rio de janeiro is home to an astonishing amount of street art, spread around town and making of the city one of the biggest open-air galleries of its kind. many brazilian and international graffiti artists have left their mark in a variety of neighborhoods, often as a homage to a local landmark or event.

on these pages we present some of the work of arts that most impressed us, divided by neighborhood - while the graffiti we documented may no longer be there, new ones likely took their place, as this form of expression is both valuable to the cariocas, and supported by the city's prefecture as a way to embellish neighborhoods and stimulate young artists.     arrow-back     arrow-forward
