tickets to the event are priced in the region of r$2,300 per person (+ 10% service charge) - so, partying in one of rio de janeiro's most exclusive establishments does come at a cost.

still within the copacabana palace, the more sedate party-goers would be happy with something more romantic: the hotel's cipriani restaurant will be offering an alternative to the main festivities.  

supper, accompanied by live piano music, followed by the fireworks viewed from the terrace will no doubt appeal to a slightly more mature audience.
