at the end of the beach a trail leads another tiny beach, praia graçainha, which is just 15 meters long and is covered at high tide - the saco do cherne also nearby is an ideal spot for fishing and diving.

praia grande is located in a huge bay 3kilometers from the centre of arraial do cabo and offers 40kilometers of fine, white sand and plentiful sand dunes which are covered in coastal vegetation - the water is clear and cold, dropping as low as 8 degrees celsius at certain times of the year, due to a resurgence phenomenon.

it is a very popular fishing destination, considered one of the best spots in the region for squid fishing in particular - due to its sometimes extremely rough nature it is a hotspot for surfers and hosts various surfing championships.
