commonly referred to as the 'glória church', the cathedral also acted as a fort for the portuguese as they defeated the french during a historic battle.  furthermore, the church is famous for its portuguese tiles, which were painted by the legendary valentim de almeida.

many visit the church, not only for its striking architecture, but also for the beautiful view of the marina da glória bay from its outside patio.
