The Biblioteca da Marinha (Marine Library), located in Centro, holds a collection of around 63,000 volumes, including books, pamphlets, journals, maps, and a special Navy collection, which focuses on the history of Brazil, Naval History and Cartography.

Its collection is divided into three categories - Access to Library Material, Technical Processing and Specialty Material. The Access to Library Material division of the institution contains a lecture hall, and a collection of reference works, while the Technical Processing division prepares publications to ensure that users can access their content.
