the area is well maintained, with two small plazas and monuments in homage to the victims of air france flight 447, a  commercial flight that crashed into the ocean on its way from rio to paris in 2009, losing 216 people.

tourists can reach the lookout by car by driving to the end of niemeyer avenue or on foot going west on leblon beach. the best time to visit is early in the day or around sunset.
