the joatinga lookout is located in joá, which is the smallest neighborhood in the city of rio de janeiro. it is situated next to barra da tijuca, itanhangá and são conrado. in the last few years, this part of the city has become one of the most expensive areas for housing investment.

it is a mountainous region with a small population of just around two thousand people and little commercial activity, giving it a very exclusive feeling. the area is home to the costa brava, a club from the 60s and one of first constructions in the region of of joatinga.
