parque nacional de tijuca is the most visited national park in brazil, receiving over 2 million visitors a year. christ the redeemer (cristo redentor), the great statue overlooking the city, is also located at the peak corcovado mountain in the park and proves a major draw for tourists.

rising 380 meters into the sky, the vista chinesa affords some wonderful views of the city including fine panoramas of the aforementioned christ the redeemer and corcovado mountain as well as lagoa rodrigo de freitas (rodrigo freitas lagoon), sugar loaf mountain (pão de açúcar), and the beaches of leblon, ipanema, and arpoador.
