due to the consistently strong waves, this beach is considered by many the best surfing beach in rio de janeiro, and it is often home to national and international surf competitions.

there are two kiosks that serve natural fruit juices, sandwiches, and light meals, targeted at the many surfers who flock here. there also is a fantastic restaurant nearby, on the right side of the beach, serving seafood and juices, with a view like no others, and that we cannot recommend enough - a small slice of heaven.
