at the lower end of the beach, there is a path leading through some rugged coastal shrub lying between the mountains and the sea. it leads to some fine sights, such as morro da ilha, much of barra de tijuca, and the uninhabited ilha das palmasand ilha das peças. the view of these islands, part of the archipelago of the tijucas, adds to the beauty of this beach.
