this is the only area where bathrooms can be used for a small fee, usually ranging between 1 and 2 reals. this end of the beach is also used as a lading area for the para gliders training on the local hill.
the launching point can be reached by walking up the hill along the road leading to the gorgeous praia do sossego.
at the western edge of the beach, dividing prainhaand piratininga beach, is the pedra da baleia - a huge rock popular with divers and snorkelers, and a great point to look out towards the surrounding islands of veado, and the three islands of pai, măe, e filha (father, mother, and daughter).
