while the trail is only moderately difficult, there are several points along the way, where the trail splits into smaller trails not always leading to beach areas. further, a local guide would know what do and who to call in case of emergencies - even a minor hiking accident as a sprained ankle would require  a boat rescue, and  a local guide could easily arrange that.
