also called praia das conchas, this beach is technically not part of the reserve of grumari, however for touristic purposes we grouped praia dos búzios with the other four wild beaches that are actually included in the reserve.

the beach's name is due to the sand being made up of small fragments of sea shells. these fragments are very white when dry, and golden when wet or under water - though these fragments are not as fine as sand, they are quite pleasant to the touch and fun to play with.

the beauty of praia dos búzios lies in the surrounding nature, the peaceful setting, the view of the island ilha rasa de guaratiba, and the small natural pools where it is possible to sit and enjoy the tides.
