at a glance

ilha rasa de guaratiba is directly south of barra de guaratiba in rio de janeiro, one of the most pristine regions in the city - it is located in close proximity to the five 'wild beaches' of rio, situated between barra de guaratiba and grumari beach - praia dos búzios, praia do perigoso, praia do meio, praia funda, and praia do inferno.

these beaches are located in the environmental protection area in the parque estadual da pedra branca, and furthermore are only accessible by hiking trail, adding to their privacy.

not a common touristic destination, many local fishermen appreciate ilha rasa de guaratiba for the rich fish banks in the area - scuba diving is also possible on days of calm seas, as the underwater visibility in the area reaches up to 14 meters.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
