parque lage is home to several ponds, two small waterfalls, a hiking trail that gets to christ the redeemer, and  an aquarium with about 50 species, as well as small and easy trails and romantic spots where to sit relax and observe monkeys going from one tree to the next.

the aquariums is dedicated to show the exotic biodiversity of the brazilian fresh water biomes, very popular among visitors. 

gazebos, bridges, caves, fountains and an artificial lake blend harmoniously with the lush vegetation.

today the park remains one of the most visited of the green areas in rio de janeiro, nestled in the foot of the corcovado mountain, right beside the botanical garden.
