the three sections within the park all offer various experiences, they are known as the parque do cantagalo (singing rooster park), the parque brigadeiro faria lima (brigadier faria lima park) and the parque das taboas.

this park and the other three are located in the lagoa district surrounding the lagoa rodrigo de freitas (rodrigo de freitas lake). the entire lake area offers the public many recreational facilities since 1995.
