opposite the beach there are several sports fields, recreational facilities and leisure areas, where people play, compete or train, as well as several jogging and bicycling tracks. it is also possible to find the monument to estácio de sá and the monument to the pracinhas.

the end of the park curves around the widow's hill, which houses the carmen miranda museum, before finally ending in the botafogo beach. the whole extension of the park is protected by the institute of historical and artistic heritage, and on weekends it is closed to traffic, allowing people to walk freely around.
