at a glance

one of the most unique plants common to the americas, but also noted for the great diversity within the species are bromeliads, which number more than 1200 different species. unfortunately, they are also the most endangered of all the plant species in brazil, with 472 types, representing more than a third of the total varieties on the list, with the mata atlântica accounting for over half of the total itself.

although brazil has set aside a large percentage of their land for biological and ecological reserves and parks, including the recognizable names of reserva biológica poço das antas, reserva biológica união, reserva ecológica estadual da juatinga.

much of the land is still held by private parties and therefore there is little to no information about the animals contained on them. arrow-back     arrow-forward
