nearly 30% of the surface of rio de janeiro city is made up of mata atlânticaand its ecosystems, such as sandbanks and mangroves.within the city limits, the zona oeste (west zone) has the most green spaces in town, with the district of guaratibaclaiming almost 7000 hectares and most of the vegetation of all neighborhoods.
