the parque estadual do chacrinha (chacrinha state park), is situated between the slopes the morro do são joão and babilônia, in the southern neighborhood of copacabana in rio de janeiro. it extends along the ladeira da leme, from the praça cardeal arcoverde to the old stronghold in leme, the fort that used to control access between copacabana and botafogo.

the park covers approximately 13 hectares and is one of the last remaining forested areas in copacabana, standing in stark contrast to its densely populated surroundings, in a neighborhood that claims one of the highest populations in the country.
