at a glance

praia das flexas also called praia das flechas, or beach of the arrows, is a beautiful beach located in niterói, near the center of town and just between the world famous niterói contemporary art museum (mac) and the praia de icaraí.

about 400 meter long, some say the name of this beach is derived from the arrows used by the indigenous population in this region, others say the name is due to the abundance of a cotton-seed plant called 'flecha'.

clear, calm waters, medium sand or reddish color, a fairly secluded position away from the large crowds of the nearby icaraí beach, praia das flexas is ideal for anyone seeking to relax and admire the beautiful views.

there are no kiosks in the area, and only the occasional vendor will walk by with snacks and drinks - there are no public restrooms or lifeguards on duty. arrow-back      arrow-forward
