there are two underground passages used to cross the avenue facing the beach, it is strongly recommended not to attempt to cross the avenue on the surface due to very fast traffic - and always respecting the green and red lights.

a word of caution - botafogo beach is not  considered safe after sunset, exception made for nights following special events.
