at a glance

very commonly, local families with young kids come to watch these parades, simple to access, and simple to enjoy - without much fanciness around, there is a precious sense of simplicity and intimacy.

while these parades are probably not for everyone, we cannot recommend them enough to anyone who wants to get a deeper, more authentic perspective in rio's carnival.

not only is the human warmth at these parades unmatched in the sambódromo, but it is almost a trip back in time to a simpler, ever beautiful, rio de janeiro. arrow-back     arrow-forward
