the carl sagan is a 23-meter diameter dome with 263 seats that houses the zeiss planetary model universarium viii td, and contains modern equipment capable of projecting approximately nine thousand stars - the second, the galileo galilei dome, is 12.5 meters in diameter with 90 seats and projects about six thousand stars.

under the management of the rede municipal de teatros there is a theatre that occasionally hosts live concerts (musica nas estrelas) and the planetário contains auditoriums, restaurants, a green play area for children and parking facilities.
