Originally called the Ministry of Labor, The Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria e Comércio Exterior (the Ministry of Development, Industry, and External Commerce) is the branch of the federal government that has capital and work as its main focus.

With the arrival of a 1960 law, the Ministry was established in Brazil, incorporating a diverse range of departments and institutions focusing on industrial property, technology, private security, and strategies for capitalizing on Brazilian domestic products.

Since then, the Ministry has expanded in scope, incorporating a number of other areas of competency, including but not limited to industrial development, commercialism, exterior commerce, tourism, technological research and experimentation, civil construction, among a series of other areas.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
