at a glance

Ação Comunitária do Brasil do Rio de Janeiro, ACB was founded in 1966 to promote the integration and social, economic and cultural rights of marginalized citizens.

They work primarily in two communities in the city which experience low levels of development: Complexo de Favelas da Maré and the Conjunto Habitacional de Cidade Alta - They provide training and educational courses, and around 50% of the teachers are former students from the project.

They work to develop the talents and skills of local people in order to endow them with autonomy and shape them as future leaders, as well as create social integration - They also identify and highlight public policies that could be implemented by the government - ACB can be contacted via email here or on the organization's website on this link. arrow-back      arrow-forward
