at a glance

It is generally recommended not to enter favelas without UPP presence due to a number of risk factors including lack of sufficient law enforcement and the absence of facilities in case of emergencies.

It is a necessity to consider environmental factors before entering a favela, weather conditions should be checked in advance - storms and heavy rainfall can cause passages to become slippery or flooded and objects may fall or collapse.

To ensure the most enjoyable and safe visit to a favela and to  be able to take advantage of the beautiful sights and views, visiting during the day is always the best option.

As with being a guest in any neighborhood, it is important to be considerate and respectful to locals and avoid drawing attention to oneself  when entering or walking around.    arrow-back      arrow-forward
