at a glance

on the north side of the bay is a quaint place, with a nostalgic feel - comprising of old colonial-style buildings, and rustic dirt roads, the island can feel a million miles away from the frenzy of the city.

many farms and houses from that period remain preserved to this day, as paquetá has been protected as an area of cultural and environmental significance.

unpaved roads add to the charm of the island - transportation is by horse-drawn carriage or bicycle, and the ruckus of the city is replaced by the songs of birds and cicadas.

ilha do brocoió is one of the least-known islands in the bay, despite its proximity to ilha paquetá.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
