fed by the waters of the atlantic, rio de janeiro has two enchanting oceanic bays, bordered by some of the most iconic landmarks of rio, adding a real majesty to the city.

further to the various landmarks, dotted around the bays, there are numerous islands scattered within both bays, providing a host of different functions and activities, away from the hub of the city.

on the eastern side of rio the emblematic guanabara bay engraves a huge bubble into the side of the state and, similar in size, the sepetiba bay marks the western part of the city.
