one of the most important assents of this area are the various animals that populate the reserve - small marsupials of the didelphidae family, guinea pigs, bats, owls, wild ducks, skunks, bats, burrowing owls, ducks of the woods, and white-faced whistlig ducks, (dendrocygna viduata). 

not to mention the red eudocimus (eudocimus ruber), a variety of water birds, and migratory birds such as the pilgrim falcon (falco peregrinus).

many almond trees along the small beach gifts the visitors with shaded areas from where to enjoy the views of the marambaia, and the guaraquessaba island - and of course of the many birds there.
