ilha de brocoió is part of the small group of islands located in the middle of guanabara bay, within rio de janeiro.

despite its position in one of the busiest areas of brazil, it has seen relatively little use in the centuries since the country's founding.

site of the governor of the state rio de janeiro summer home, and now open to the public, brocoió 's history isn't without its complications.

modest in size with only 200,000 square meters in size, brocoió was originally constituted by two islands interlinked.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
