to the south is the ilha da seca, and along the western arc are several smaller rocks - ponta da ribeira, mãe maria, ilha d'água, manóeis de dentro, mestre rodrigues, rasa, palmas, aroeiras and rijo.

beyond the northern edge of governador are two more islands: boqueirão and tipiti-açu, and a little further away are nhanqueta and viraponga.
