at a glance

these waters surrounding the island of the urubu and the neighboring guaraquessaba are very rich and support a great diversity of marine wildlife, the basis for the important local fishing activity.

unfortunately this variety is threatened by pollution, not only originated from the large industries situated up north, but also by the casual littering, which has become far too prevalent.

this reality led the government to develop efforts in order to counter it and preserve the wonders of the sepetiba bay, and including specifically the island of the urubu and its neighboring islands.     arrow-back      arrow-forward
