these rocks can be described
as the peaks of a small underwater ridge and include
guaraquessaba and the island of the urubu, a little up north.
most of the formation, though, is hidden below the waves and is
covered in algae and sediments, providing nourishment to a
blooming variety of wildlife.
this became quite important to
human activity as the general richness of the bay provided the
basis for the
thriving local fishing activity.
