every third saturday of every month, the festival jazz, arte e gastronomia (jazz, arts, and gastronomy) livens up rua lavradio in lapa, when the stretch between rio branco and rua do senado becomes headquarter to stands selling antiques, arts, local traditional foods, at the sound of live jazz.

with free access, the event happens between 10 in the morning to 6 at night, but the party goes on as lapa 's many bars and restaurants start to open up around that time - with some home to jazz do castelo, another small but charming jazz event.
