at a glance

the project has allowed a recreational bike lane to be built on the beach, traveling the entire length of the neighborhood - throughout the day a continuous stream of skaters, cyclists and runners take advantage of this facility.

copacabana is the 'princess of the sea.' even the sands are illuminated at night, through a project which came to life under the administration of mayor saturnino braga. these neon sands along with the copacabana night life, light up the whole the city.

furthermore, the beach stages a variety of musical events. in the past internationally acclaimed artists, such as the rolling stones and stevie wonder have performed here, attracting massive crowds. during the summer, the beach also hosts various international sporting competitions, such as soccer and volleyball.

for those who enjoy a more relaxing beach experience there are countless barracas - stalls along the length of the beach, offering umbrellas and deck chairs as well as refreshments against a small fee. arrow-back      arrow-forward
