there is a large number of parks and squares located in lagoa, one of the most individual is the 30,000 square meters of parque da catacumba. opened in 1979, it was the first park with an open-air sculpture garden in brazil, harmonizing natural and man-made beauty along a path ultimately leading to the pico do sacopă, a miranteoffering gorgeous views of the region. displayed in the park are works by numerous artists, including, sérgio camargo, franz weissman and antónio manuel - it is also known as a great spot for live music, with small concerts springing up throughout the year.
