the higher part of the hill, where filming occurred is now home to the least developed part of the community, with constructions that in the past were often at risk of collapsing during heavy rains.    

finally free from the domination of the drug gangs, now babilônia is growing at a rapid pace -  due to its privileged location, it is now attracting new shops, small entrepreneurs, and tourist-related service providers.

the babilônia's residents' association is energetic and open to new ideas and projects to improve the community and help integrate it in rio's touristic landscape.
