raymundo castro maya was a successful businessman, who in his times significantly enriched rio's cultural life.  his former home was turned into the museu da chácara do céu (museum of the homestead of the sky)now displaying an important collection of modern art, including works by masters such as picasso, matisse, dali, portinari, di cavalcanti, and guinard. 

museu da chácara do céu is located in rua murtinho nobre, 93 and opens its doors to visitors daily between noon and 17:00, except tuesdays.
