The actual overriding took place in 1986. Despite this, the Vila has been deteriorating, having only undergone reforms instigated by its residents. According to new building legislation, it still lacks some features and modifications which would guarantee its habitability and the security of residents. Through our historical and contextual analysis, we seek to assist in the preparation of a project, outlining proposals of conservation and repair, which would enable the building to take advantage of the opportunities laid out in official documents. They are two structures with characteristic English industrial architecture from the 19th Century, constructed to receive cargo brought by trains, which stopped at the platforms to the side and, also, passed through the middle of them.
