rocinha is very easy to reach by public transportation as there are 4 bus lines serving the area, plus a number of minivans that run along the beach sides in copacabana and ipanema - the top of the community can only be reached via moto taxi - motorcycles are the main transport inside the favela. 

despite this ease of access, we highly recommend visitors to only access the neighborhood accompanied by a guide and to read up on our safety tips.
