the event propels restaurants, culinary establishments and cooks from rio's favelas to the forefront of the city's conscience and pallet - the restaurants and eateries included in the festival come from ten favelas, which include providência and morro do pinto, santa marta, tabajaras & cabrito, chapéu mangueira, babilônia, rocinha, and vidigal, all of which have been pacified by the polícia pacificadora. 

during the circuit, residents and visitors taste authentic dishes, following a pre-defined route through communities - exquisite and inventive past dishes have included mussel risotto, harumaki of feijoada, prawn pasta and bamboo pastries, enjoyed alongside a community craft fair.
